Critical messages that the user sees should also go to the log file, so
that the exact error (with time) can later be analyzed from the log file.

It makes more sense to set the optimization flags on a platform basis
instead of individually for each module. This allows for different
optimization options for SITL, NuttX, Snapdragon, etc.
